Motorcycle riding is very popular and the number of riders in PA has steadily increased over the past few years. The law firm of Schwartz and Blackman has represented many motorcycle riders and in its 30 years, has seen many cases in which a rider is seriously injured in an accident, but unable to recover financial compensation because the accident was their fault. Safety must be first and foremost to all motorcycle riders.

Motorcycle Safety and Accident Prevention

Motorcycle safety and accident prevention are important issues, issues which young, inexperienced riders might not take seriously. Speeding, unnecessary weaving, and riding while under the influence of alcohol or drugs are common factors which can lead to a devastating accident. If not fatal, motorcycle accidents often result in catastrophic injuries.  The reality is that other drivers on the road have a hard time seeing motorcycles, especially at night. Therefore, motorcycle safety must be a paramount concern for riders.

Visibility is one of the key factors which can help prevent a motorcycle accident at night. Reflective clothing and helmets are crucial in helping drivers see motorcycles. Whether at intersections or on a highway, wearing reflective clothing and using safe motorcycle riding practices can prevent an accident.
